Site became unavailable

Suddenly my site shows up as unavailable or susceptible to hacking. I need help immediately please.

The site I need help with is tinytreasuresacademyschool.wordpress.com.

  • Hi,

I’m not having any trouble accessing https://tinytreasuresacademyschool.wordpress.com/ nor do I get any warnings or error messages.

Are you still encountering this issue?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, it still says the website doesn’t exist. I tried on the computer and through other mobile devices.

This is what we see when we visit your site logged out of WordPress.com: screenshot https://d.pr/i/cxOjWk

If you’re seeing something else, first clear your browser cache to ensure you’re loading the most recent version of your website.

If you’re still having this problem, please take a screenshot of the problem in question. If you’re not familiar on how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:

    Take a Screenshot

Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look.

    Thanks!

Thank you for looking into it. I noticed the URL you had in your screenshot is https://tinytreasuresacademyschool.wordpress.com/. That is not the URL that I’m using. Also, I’m caching and trying from many sources and still can not see the website.

You never mentioned the URL tinytreasuresdaycare.com. According to whois info, that domain is registered with Godaddy, https://www.whois.com/whois/tinytreasuresdaycare.com. When I visit that URL I get redirected to the non-excisting tinytreasuresdaycare.wordpress.com.

  • Oh, okay, you’re referring to a completely different site then.

The domain tinytreasuresdaycare.com is registered via GoDaddy and used to be mapped to a WordPress.com site created under a different account (your developer, maybe?). However, the domain mapping has been canceled, so if you’d like to display a site hosted elsewhere, you’d need to update the nameservers on GoDaddy’s end.

If you’d like to use that domain with your site tinytreasuresacademyschool.wordpress.com, you’ll need to purchase one of our paid plans and map the domain as explained here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/.

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.

Ok thank you. How did this suddenly happen after a year of it working this way with no problem?

  • Hi there,

Ok thank you. How did this suddenly happen after a year of it working this way with no problem?

it’s simple. The account owner that had this domain registered and mapped to a WordPress.com site didn’t renew it and it eventually expired.

If you want your site back, you need to talk to your developer and have it reinstated or transfer it over to your account so that you can manage it going forward.

I am the developer and need help. I had someone from designcrowd help with the website a while ago, but they transferred the ownership back to me. When I go through my account settings, I don’t see anything that would fix the issue. I’ve paid for all the privacy features, etc.

Is there any way to get someone to call me to help me fix this?

I did buy the URL on godaddy but have used wordpress to build the website from the beginning. I spoke to godaddy and they said I have account ownership and everything is correct from their end. I think there’s a wordpress error but I’m not sure how to go about to fix it.

I basically need http://www.tinytreasuresdaycare.com to work. I’m not even sure where the other URL came from.

  • So, just to be clear, when you visit tinytreasuresdaycare.com, you can or cannot view the site?

I am not having trouble seeing tinytreasuresdaycare.com currently. I am seeing a recently purchased Premium site plan and that Domain Mapping has been set up, so you may have sorted the issue out.

Let us know the status so we can continue helping if needed.

I fixed it last night on my own. Just in case someone comes across this issue, it looks like I had to re map my domain with the site I created. Something must’ve expired and I didn’t get any notifications. Instead WordPress mapped it to a different URL temporarily. I then had to re map it to the domain I originally had. Thanks for trying.

  • Glad it got sorted out!
