Site Connection for wordpress.org site
-
On our LIVE wordpress.org site we have the Jetpack plugin that is connected to our blog. It shows the stats and subscribers. Recently I noticed it was disconnected. Upon reconnecting it, the past stats (prior to March 2023) are gone and things like subscribers are show the wrong numbers. I am not sure if I have the wrong account connected or what.
My WordPress Support Company sent me the following message. So maybe the test site (testpublic.closeup.org) is connected and there for the LIVE site can’t also be?
‘I could see the test website was connected to Jetpack and it was tracking stats which probably means was set up as the primary website, they do offer a code to define a staging site on jetpack:
However, this won’t work in all cases. If needed, you can manually turn on Staging Mode by adding define( ‘JETPACK_STAGING_MODE’, true ); to your staging site’s wp-config.php file. Make sure you add it before the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ line.
The file is not editable on our end and we cannot add it, however, I have disabled Jetpack on the test site, and the support should be able to make the live site your primary site.’Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated. We really need to get all the stats and history back up and working on our LIVE site.
Thanks,

Hi there,
It sounds like you are needing help with the Jetpack plugin, but have landed on the support forum for WordPress.com sites instead. Can you please report this issue to Jetpack support by asking here? Thanks!
