site crashing during editing

    Hello,
    Every time I go into the content menu to add content to my site, the webpage freezes. It kicks me out and deletes whatever I was working on, though the auto-recovery has been saving most of it. This has been occurring regularly for about a month now and is getting frustrating. I’ve been able to get things edited by adding content without using the menu, but it would be much more convenient to use it as it was intended. Do you have any suggestions? I feel this is a webpage/host issue and not on my end, as I have used the menu without issue in the past when I built the site. Thanks for any insight you can give.

    Hi there!

    Sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing. We aren’t aware of any widespread issues like this. That makes me think the issue might be specific to the browser you’re using. Can you try the following?

    1. Try temporarily using a different browser to edit and see if it works there.
    2. Clear your browser cache. Here’s how to clear your browser cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
    3. If neither of the above works, try using a different computer/internet connection if possible.

    Thank you for the reply. Clearing the cache did nothing on Chrome. When I switched to Microsoft Edge it seems to be working. I guess I will have to go in there to do edits. Why would that be?

    Glad to hear it is working in Microsoft Edge for you! It seems the issues is specific to your Chrome browser.

    Can you try the following for me and let me know if it helps?

    1. Please clear your browser cache for “All time”, then open a new tab to view your site. Instructions on clearing your browser cache can be found here: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
    2. Try deactivating all browser extensions/add-ons in Chrome
