site created but not active

  Hello,

  I think a while back I created a site and deleted/deactivated it. I can still see it in my profile (thegreatpicnic.wordpress.com) but I cannot find a way to reactivate it and I cannot create a new one with the same name.

  What can I do to get this address back?

  thegreatpicnic.wordpress.com is no longer available.

  The authors have deleted this site.

  Gone is gone forever – URL’s are not recycled at WordPress.COM, you were warned several times when you deleted the site that you would not be able to reuse the name

  that’s a strange practice. I guess I did not understand that they would retire the domain name. Doesn’t really make sense.
