Site Deletion

  I purchased a domain and built a whole new site on WordPress and Woocommerce. My new site address is https://lilylovegifts.co.za
  I would like to delete my previous site lilylovegiftswebsite.wordpress.com, but I want to make sure that I will only be deleting lilylovegiftswebsite.wordpress.com and nothing of my new site.

  Hi there,

  Deleting your WordPress.com site won’t affect your self-hosted site in any way. They are two completely separate sites and nothing you do on one can influence the other.

  That said, consider just setting your WordPress.com site to private instead. That way it will still be there if you wanted to use it again at some point. But if you delete it, that address will be permanently disabled, and you won’t be able to reclaim it again in future.

  You can both delete or change the privacy settings for the site at Settings ->General in the dashboard.

  Also note that, if you decide to go ahead and delete the site, you shouldn’t also delete your WordPress.com username account:

  While the sites aren’t linked to one another, your new site is linked to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. Jetpack adds various features to your site that relies on this connection to work. You also need a WordPress.com account to log into WooCommerce.com if you wanted to buy premium add-ons from them, and some WooCommerce add-ons also rely on this connection to work.
