Site deletion didn't remove all media
-
Hello!
I recently found a very old site I owned which I wanted to delete. I did so, assuming all media would also be removed. To my dismay, a document uploaded to the site is still live online. The whole reason for deleting the site was to remove this document – I’m kicking myself for not deleting this first, but I thought deleting the whole site would be more time-efficient. Sigh.
Is there a way to remove this file from WordPress’s databases for good?
Many thanks

I just want to add that before deleting my site, I turned the privacy settings to ‘private’ as an additional precaution. Sadly, that didn’t also work for the documents.

Media uploads are cached, and the cache will be automatically purged within 24 hours.
We can manually purge each item, but we’ll need the full URL of the file you’re referring to in order to do that.

Hi Macmanx,
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve tried clearing my cache but the file is still available. Here’s a link to the document.
Many thanks :)

Thanks for the link. I’ve removed this file from the cache, and I can confirm it’s no longer available.
I hope that helps :) -
