Site description which appears in Google
-
Hi!
I would like to optimise the site description for Google search engine. Now, the description is the first sentence of my latest post. How can I change it?
General settings – do not help.
Kind regards,

Please read this > http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/
We cannot help you with that. What Google or any search engine chooses to display in search results is beyond our control. All search engine issues are between you and the search engine. http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

PS – you have a 4 day old blog with ONE Post – not much for a search engine to grab onto – blog more and choose a good Title and Tagline

thank you for your answers. What about meta tags? Is there any possibility to customise it or it is not possible, because they are the same in all wordpress.com blogs?
-
They are no longer used and even if they were we cannot access that are of our themes and insert metatags. What attracts search engines is unique content the cannot be founds anywhere else on the internet. Don’t waste any time. Start publishing original content frequently.
The process we use for verifying free hosted WordPress.com blogs with search engines is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.
WordPress.com provides the search engines with site maps. We bloggers do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/
