  There are a few things that I want to do with the design of my site that don’t appear to be possible within the WordPress interface. I want to display some video thumbnails a little differently from what it is currently available through wordpress.

  I’m wondering if it is possible to use a site like CargoCollective (or other third party site development) to create the design of my site. The URL (squawktwelvehundred.com) was purchased through WordPress, and I believe it’s hosted through wordpress, but I’m wondering if it is possible to use a different party to create the site’s content.

  It is possible to hire someone to design your WordPress.com site for you. But they will still be bound by the customization options that are available for WordPress.com blogs.

  If you need more design freedom, you might want to look into hiring someone to create a self hosted WordPress.org blog for you.
