Site disappeared

Hi- our site was hosted on WordPress but we purchased the hosting package through GoDaddy. They missed the hosting renewal deadline and now the website has disappeared. I went ahead and renewed the hosting for 2 years but still no luck. Any help?

Hi, WordPress is the software that powers the website, it doesn’t host it. So if you’ve purchased hosting from GoDaddy, you should contact them about renewing it and restoring your site.

I already renewed the hosting but the WordPress site is still not showing up
I think there’s some confusion here. There are three different “WordPress” at play here:
1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.Since we don’t host your site, we don’t have any access to nor the ability to affect your site.
You need to contact your host GoDaddy for help with this problem. Since they host your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you with this. Hopefully, they still have a backup of your site on their servers they can restore now that your hosting is paid in full – most hosing providers will delete your content from their hosting servers if you’re no longer paying for their hosting service.
