Site doesn’t exist anymore?

I cannot log into my website. It says that it is currently undergoing maintenance. I, the website’s admin cannot even log in. When I enter the website here on the support contact it says that it is registered under a different account but when I try to recover it, wordpress says the website doesn’t even exist. I tried contacting bluehost like the maintenance screen says but we have a valid and hosted domain. So that means it is a wordpress issue.

I’m not sure if I have any options for recovery now and it seems WordPress has just deleted my website for no reason.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Unknown

    Hi there,

What is the URL of the site you’re trying to regain access to? Is the site hosted with Bluehost? Or just the domain?

If the site is hosted with Blueghost, you’re using the open-source WordPress.org software and would need to seek help at these forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums provide support for WordPress.com hosted sites. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would also reach out Bluehost for help. If they host the site, then they should be able to assist you in regaining access to it.

If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Thanks!

Hi thanks for the speedy response. I am pretty sure my website was on wordpress.com despite the domain being hosted through bluehost..? I have a wordpress.com account but I do not have a wordpress.org account. So I believe unless my account was deleted either, it was on wordpress.com despite being hosted through bluehost.

Also I thought I gave the domain but since it is not showing up it is bloomingtonsdachurch.org

    Howdy,

There are two things commonly called “WordPress”.

    1. WordPress the free open-source site building software from WordPress.org (this is what you used to build your website).

    2. WordPress.com, a web host for sites using WordPress software.

The two are related, but completely separate entities. Please read this page for more info on how they are related:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

As a completely volunteer based organization offering a free product, WordPress (the open-source software) does not have a phone number, an office, or a support team. Questions are often answered in their forums by helpful community members.

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

WordPress.com (which you have reached) is a business and does have a support team. But we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. We cannot help with sites hosted elsewhere but built with the WordPress open-source software.

Should your web host help you with this? That would depend entirely on what your hosting package offers for support. Some web hosts offer very high touch WordPress specific support (I would include WordPress.com here). Some only offer that kind of support in higher tier or WordPress-focused hosting packages. While others offer nothing aside from getting you set up with your server space and cpanel/FTP access. You’d have to ask your host what your specific plan offers. And if your current plan doesn’t offer what you need, if there is an option for more focused WordPress support on a higher tier plan.

Does that make sense? Let us know if not or if you have further questions.

Yes that does make sense and I have tried to access wordpress.org (which *should* be the correct based on what you said) but I do not have an account there to which I cannot host or access a website therefore I think wrodpress.org is where the issue is rooted because if I never had a wordpress.org account then my website should have been on wordpress.com prior to it being deleted. Unless wordpress banned my wordpress.org account in which I was never notified and do not know how I can retrieve it.

Your site isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com servers so staff here can’t assist. WordPress.org is free software. There is a support forum for that free software at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    Domain:bloomingtonsdachurch.org
    Registrar:FastDomain Inc.
    Name Servers:
    ns1.bluehost.com
    ns2.bluehost.com

If Bluehost don’t offer support then you’ll need to register an account and ask for advice from the support forum for the free software your site uses.
