Site Domain Switch Over
-
My company has a site domain through WordPress that was formerly managed by another company. The company owns the rights to the template but we own the rights to the copy and the URL. I am making a new WordPress site with one of their domains to get away from this other company but I don’t know how to get the domain back… What should I do?

Hi,
Do you know which company you purchased the domain name through (GoDaddy.com, namecheap.com, bluehost.com, domain.com)? You should be able to login to the site where you purchased the domain name, and manage the domain from there. Beyond that, are you planning to use a WordPress.com hosted website, or are you planning to use a different hosting company to build a WordPress.org website? With a WordPress.org website, you can simply use a different hosting platform, link it to your current domain name, and use the WordPress.org setup to build your site. Many hosting plans even have a WordPress download directly on their controls which makes the setup fairly simple. I hope this helps!
