    Our site is down through godaddy hosting but we need a maintenance message to appear. Is there a way to do that from wordpress’s end?

    I wanted to mention that your site was not built with WordPress.com, the forum where you are posting right now, but with the self-hosted version, often called WordPress.org. This forum is maintained and equipped to support WordPress.com sites.

    To clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different companies and we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere.
