    My site ‘obviouslyvegan.com’ has become inaccessible, I started this site on wordpress.com and bought the domain name via wordpress.com also. I then migrated to wordpress.org, using siteground for hosting. I have spoken to someone about why my site may be down and they think it is possibly a case of an expired domain, however, wordpress.com does not allow me to renew my domain ‘obviouslyvegan.com’ as the site is no longer hosted through them. I really don’t know what to do, please help.

    That domain is still hosted by Wild West Domains which is part of WordPress.com. However the domain hosting expired in May and is currently in redemption and there are now increased costs involved in recovering it.     As staff intervention will be required I have added modlook to the tag box on the right to ask WordPress.com staff to reply to you and explain your options.

    Hi maisiestedman,

    obviouslyvegan.com expired on 2017-05-17 and is currently in the redemption period (which is why you are unable to renew it from your account):

    Domain Expiration

    We can still try to recover the domain but you will need to pay an $80 redemption fee in addition to the regular domain renewals costs ($18). If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount and start the recovery process once it has been paid.

    If you do not want to pay the fee, you can try to re-register the domain once it has been released but there is no guarantee you will be the first to register it.

    Please let me know what you would like to do as soon as you can.
