Site down, recovery link does not work

    I’m developing a plugin and it has a critical error that has caused the site to go down – blank screen in browser.
    I received an email about the critical error, and clicked on the recovery link in the email. Took me to the site with the recovery information in the link, but returned a blank screen.

    Info from the email:

    WordPress version 6.5.3
    Active theme: Psyclone Lite (version 1.1)
    Current plugin: Example Settings (version 1.0)
    PHP version 8.1.28

    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 0 of the file /home/mymmapsc/public_html/wp-content/plugins/example_settings/includes/example-settings-list-table.php. Error message: Cannot declare class Example_Settings_List_Table, because the name is already in use

    More info:

    • Not a blog site.
    • Cannot access the dashboard.
    • No pages/links/etc display anything
    • The error indicates that a class name is already defined, yet it isn’t repeated in any of the code.

    Can I use ftp to remove the plugin?

    Is there another method to remove the offending code?
