    hi, my site is down at the moment … the original problem was an outdated theme and I managed to restore the site by changing to a free wordpress theme. however, it’s now down again

    I think it has to do with the fact I I initially tried to fix the problem by restoring a backup thru my host (GoDaddy) and then, having fixed the problem, attempted to undo that action

    Hello, this is a WordPress.com forum and apparently your site is not hosted here but using the open-source version of the WordPress software at GoDaddy.
    Therefore you can ask for support, directly from them or you can also ask at the WordPress.org forum:
