Site Editing

I purchased a domain through Hostgator and linked it here at WordPress. I started to edit my site. And then a couple weeks randomly my site now longer appears on my dashboard. But it can be accessed on google. So I have been able to view it but not change it anymore so I have been confused. I appreciate anyones help or advice on how to move forward.
