Site editor starts to load then dumps me back to the dashboard

I’m completely unable to edit the site.
Have tried on macOS Chrome 118 and Safari 16.6
Steps:
1. In Dashboard click on Edit site under Quick links
2. Site editor starts to load, but quits about quarter of the way through.
3. I get a flash of a page saying Your Site’s Almost Ready.
4. I get dumped back to the Dashboard.Any ideas?
