  I am developing a village website and would like different people to be able to edit certain pages only (and not have editorial rights for the whole site). Am I correct in thinking this is not possible?

  Hello
  You could give them contributor rights which are more restrictive than editor rights. Here is a synopsis of the various roles:

  Administrator – nothing is off limits* (see note below)
  Editor – has access to all posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and links.
  Author – can write, upload photos to, edit, and publish their own posts.
  Contributor – has no publishing or uploading capability, but can write and edit their own posts until they are published
  Follower (public sites) / Viewer (private sites only) – can read and comment on posts and pages

  Hi Dave
  Many thanks for the information – but contributors are a little too restricted. For example, I would like the village pub to be able to upload the latest menu image to their page; and the community council to be able to upload a file containing the latest meeting minutes.
  I guess this is not possible without them having access to all the other pages?
  I do have the Premium WordPress.

  Access to individual pages does not seem possible, BUT:

  If each of those entities already has, or is willing to create, a page of their own, you could create links to each web page that open in a new window. That makes the pub responsible for their page, local government responsible for theirs etc.

  Or, if they are willing, and whatever manner of page creation they choose makes RSS feeds, (WordPress does so automatticly) you could incorporate their feeds into your page.

  Here is a link to some information about RSS widgets.

  Does that sound more like what you are looking for?
