    im a novice to blogging. Last year I bought a domain name, template from pip dig and site ground was my hosting partner -I cannot figure out how it works. It isn’t very user friendly. no phone support. Can I transfer? They have just taken a year’s worth of payment from my account. will I loose it if I cancel?

    Hi there,

    We offer two options to transfer an existing WordPress site from another host to WordPress.com.

    1) You can transfer your content only, meaning you’ll start over with one of our themes.

    Import a Website

    2) You can transfer your entire site, including theme and plugins. This requires an upgrade to our Business Plan, though.

    With either option you can transfer your domain to us using any of our paid plans, though you should only do this after you transfer your content.

    You won’t lose any of the time you’ve paid for on your domain, as the domain will transfer to us with its current expiration date, and it will be renewed for another year when the transfer completes.

    But you’ll need to contact Siteground directly to ask if you’re eligible for any refund on your hosting plan, should you cancel that now.
