Site Hack?

I’ve noticed some strange repeating “referrers” to my website. One starts “buttons-for” the other starts “bestseo” – I am not a techie person (I’m an artist) who uses my site in a very basic way without ANY knowledge of code etc. I marked both referrers as Spam, other than that guidance would be very helpful. It also makes me uneasy that this activity is happening right after I upgraded from a basic to a premium account.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. Referrer stats refers to a link someone clicked on to get to your site. It has nothing to do with activity in your site/dashboard, so you don’t need to worry about getting hacked.

The only way someone can gain access to your blog is if you add them as a user, or if they gain access to your username-password combination. To put your own mind at rest, I suggest you update both your email and WordPress.com passwords, and also check under Users ->All Users in the dashboard that no unauthorised accounts are listed there.
