site hacked

My wife’s site has been hacked and adverts for watches put up all over it. The password has also been changed and it is impossible to go and fix it. Please can anyone help. I maintain her site as she is a bit of a Luddite and doesn’t know how ! Thanks the site is: http://michelerowe.co.za/

Looking at the nameservers on that domain, it does not appear to be hosted by WordPress.com, where we are. And looking at the source code of the site, it’s using a very outdated version of standalone WP.
If you need help with a standalone install of the WP software, please head over to https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username there, you’ll need to register one. You can do so from the link in the upper right corner of that page.
WordPress.com and WP are separate entities. For clarification please read: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

wow-thanks for the quick response – I’ve sent something to their forum. hope it works out. The thing is the password replacement cannot be sent : when I try to send an email with the lost password button I get this response:
” The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…”
anyway I hope its not too complicated. She’s just put out a great new novel and cannot put it on the blog -
