  • Hi –

Sorry to learn that y’all are having a hard time with the site right now.

Looking at that site I can see it’s hosted on technorail.com. It’s not using our managed hosting environment from WordPress.com.

For help, I would contact them first. Hopefully y’all can get a back up of the site from the hosting provider (not all provide this) or have used a back up/security plugin for such scenarios. There’s a volunteer network available for folks who run their own WordPress installations, which is how you’re set up. That is available at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ If the hosting provider told you to ask WordPress, that’s where they meant to send you.

On WordPress.com our team offers a managed hosting environment. This means that we handle all the back end details of the site. Things like back ups, updates, security, spam, seo, ssl, mobile optimization, top notch hosting specs, and sorting out any errors or bugs that pop up along the way. When you run a stand alone WordPress installation, like what y’all have set up, then all of those details fall on to you – so instead of being able to focus on content you spend a ton of time and frustration fixing these sort of issues.

All of our hosting plans are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you think a managed environment is a better setup for the project and your experience level then we can talk more about how to move your site over and what’s involved with that process. Our entry level plan includes every thing I’ve mentioned and a few more thing. Notably, increased media storage limit, ability to remove ads, and access to private email support from our team. It’s only $4/month for that plan.
