Site has disappeared, zero support available
-
Shortly after copying our live site from wordpress.com to a different provider’s staging location for development purposes, the site disappeared from our WordPress.com dashboard. Now we are unable to access it from either the WordPress.com dashboard or the WordPress dashboard although the site itself is still available. It appears that the new staging site reactivated either Jetpack or Akismet and somehow caused the disconnection from wordpress.com. To make matters worse, WordPress.com does not provide any way at all to get direct support on this. The support bot is of no use of course but asking to connect to a human gets us a response to “click the button below to connect with our Happiness Engineers” (seriously?) but there is no button. I suspect the Happiness button is only available if you have a known site in the dashboard. I’m hoping that someone from WordPress.com monitors this board and can reach out and help to correct this but any advice at all would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is crazy. I have no way to contact WordPress.com support. No phone numbers are available and their woefully inadequate AI support bot keeps telling it to click a non-existent button to speak to a human. I’ve tried contacting Automattic (parent company) but get no response. What a mess. Can anyone help?

You disabled logging in with WordPress.com yourself bij setting your site in safe mode. You can log in to your site at https://juxtadesignandbuild.ca/wp-login.php using the credentials you choose yourself when you set up your site.

I just checked your domain for you and I can see the nameservers for juxtadesignandbuild.ca are set to GoDaddy, making everything connected with the site load from GoDaddy.
This is why things aren’t appearing as they were previously in your WordPress.com dashboard.
If you want to continue using WordPress.com as your host, the nameservers need to be changed back to:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThis needs to be done where your domain is registered, which is also GoDaddy.
One thing to keep in mind is that it can take up to 72 hours for domain changes to fully update around the internet. After that, you shouldn’t have any more issues.
You mentioned wanting to test on a staging development, as you’re on the Business plan, you have the option to create a staging site like this:
