  Hello,
  I go to admin, appearances/customizing. At the left hand bottom I click on the middle medium size header, but the saved button at the right top is off and I the change isn’t saved..

  Hi William,

  Can you please tell us the URL of the site you need help with?

  At the left hand bottom I click on the middle medium size header

  Are you speaking of these buttons?

  Those aren’t header size settings. Those icons let you see previews of your site at different screen sizes, so you can check what your site will look like on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile phones respectively.

  So clicking on those buttons won’t activate the Save button, as it simply changes what preview you’re seeing in the Customizer, and not changing anything regarding the design of your site.

  Your theme doesn’t have alternate header sizes, but that is something that can be changed with CSS: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/custom-css/
