Site Heading looks wonky on laptop

    Hi there, I’m not sure what’s going on but I was on my laptop today working on the blog and I noticed that the header image isn’t showing and the sub title is showing way below where it should be, so it’s actually overalpping/hidden behind the content. It’s strange because when I view it on my phone or ipad it’s fine and when I try to view it through the CSS customization preview it’s fine. But when I open the site in the browser it looks wonky. Any ideas what’s causing this?

    Hi there, I’m not seeing this. Did you get this solved? I checked in Firefox, Chrome and in Safari.

    Strange, no I haven’t resolved it unfortunately. I’m using Firefox. Like I said it shows up fine on my phone and iPad, it’s just wonky on my laptop. Could it be because I’m using an older version of Firefox? If so, is there a way to correct for that as others who may be viewing with an older version might have this problem as well. Thanks in advance!

    Hmmm, can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing in your older version of FF and upload it to your media library and give us a link to that file, and for troubleshooting, which version of FF are you seeing this issue on?

    Hi there,

    Here are the two screen shots, one of the home page and one of a post page.

    I’m using Firefox 3.6.28, from the dinosaur age I know, but my Mac is really old and still running OS X 10.4.11, so I can’t upgrade Firefox.

    Everything worked fine until a few days ago…I started having this issue here, but I also started having a few other issues too. As you can see in the screen shots, my instagram feed doesn’t load. Also, when I’m in the post editor, I can’t use the text tab anymore, I click on it, but nothing happens. It was really handy before because I could go in there and edit the short code, now the only way I can edit the short code on a post is on my phone or ipad. Any way to get around these issues? I’m guessing they are due to some update WordPress has made?

    Thanks so much in advance for any tips and advice you can give.

    Ah, interesting… This is a total shot in the dark, but let’s try adding the following to your custom CSS.

    #masthead {
    display: block;
    }

    Ok so I didn’t change anything and when I logged on today it looked fine. Very strange. If it goes wonky again, I will try your suggestion above.

    In the meantime though, I can’t use the text tab to make post edits and I can’t insert media. The media issue has been ongoing for some time, and I assumed it had to do with my old browser, but I used to get around it by using the text tab and inserting the media from there, now that the text tab isn’t working, I don’t know what to do. Any ideas why this may be happening?

    When you say you can’t use the Text tab, you mean it’s not visible in the post editor? Or that nothing happens when you click on it?

    Your browser sounds like it is definitely the issue here, and it’s quite a bit older than we officially support, so there may not be anything I can do directly to troubleshoot this issue.

    Happy to take a closer look, but it sounds like inevitably you will need to update your browser at some point. :(
