site highjacked or abandoned: don’t know which.

i hired some one to put the sight together for me. They were supposed to then set me up as an administrator and turn the site over to me. she said she is no longer an admin on my sight, but did not assign me as admin on my site, so i cannot make any changes, and she told me she can be of no help. I need to know if she is indeed still an admin on the site ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). if so i need her removed and also i need to be made an admin for my sight ASAP.

also, is there a physical number to call or is this a wait until they get to you situation in all cases?

WordPress.com doesn’t have phone support. As you have a paid plan, it’s very easy to restore access to your site by using the transaction ID at the account recovery form – https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

Hi there,
daboogieman216.com is indeed currently owned by the person who set it up for you. Additionally, there is another administrator account linked to this site, and it appears to be your account.
However, it seems you are currently logged into a different account, which is why you’re unable to access the site. The administrator account linked to your site is associated with a different email address than the one you’re using now.
To resolve this, you’ll need to access that other account of yours. If you’re having trouble remembering the details of this account, our Account Recovery guide will be very helpful. Please follow the steps outlined in the guide to regain access to your account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
Once you have access to the correct account, you’ll be able to manage your site as an administrator. If you encounter any further issues or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help.

@fstat that does not work. i entered the recovery info however when i attempt to log in with it i receive a message saying that user does not exist. when i attempt to use the recovery form it asks me for information i do not have since i did not set the account up.
maybe i am using the recovery email incorrectly, and the info you sent does not show how to use the email to recover the info, only how to designate the email and phone number, which i have done. please advise on next steps.

Here’s what you can try:
Use the password reset form (https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword) and enter every email address you have access to. Then go and check your inboxes for the password reset email.
It’s highly possible that you still have access to the email address associated with the account you’re trying to regain access to.

@fstat i have too many emails for that to be feasible. i provided the email for the person who set up the site. will you please send a reset link to the other admin email on the site. if there is a security worry, it should be satisfied that if i’m not the admin on the other address i won’t receive it. can the reset be sent it he recovery email? if i am then we are all set. this is a business sight and right now the email associated with it needs me to have admin privileges and it is costing me money not to be able to send mail from it.

I’ve just sent a password reset email to the email address associated with the other administrator account on that site. Please check all your inboxes for that email.
