our org. let our domain name expire and it has been taken by someone else. I cant find where to disconnect a domain name from the site. any help would be appreciated. the linked blog url is the hijacked site. not ours.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have flagged this for the staff to help – but they need the base WordPress.COM blog name to help (your-site.wordpress.com) – also I did not see any domain mapping – are you sure you were hosted here?

I inherited this issue. and was not the creator of the site. let me see if I can find out. I would guess msgeocachers.wordpress.com or maybe msga.wordpress.com I would like to set it up so msga.net points to it. but I cant even see the original site it keeps going to this childrens book page that I would like to get disconnected.

ahh further investigation shows it was not hosted here they were using wordpress as an app in the site hosted elsewhere Sorry for the false alarm

So there still seems to be an issue with a permalink. I cant find a way to get it removed if staff could point me in the right direction.

    Hello @msgaadmin

Could you provide some more details? What is the site that you need to remove the permalink from? What is the permalink that needs to be removed?

to be honest It has me confused. msga.net is redirected somehow to msgeocachers.com if I browse to msga.net/msga I do get to the correct page. (the site is hosted at godaddy but uses wordpress as its app for the pages)

we did used to own the msgeocachers.com domain name but let it slip away and someone has put a site on it (hijacked was a bit of an extreme description) but I cant seem to disconnect the site from the msgeocachers.com domain. thx for any help you can provide.

    Hello @msgaadmin

It looks like this is something involving the domain registrar – there is a redirect or something that is causing the behavior that you’re experiencing. As none of these sites or domains are hosted at WordPress.com, our options for troubleshooting are limited.

You can remove the site from your My Blogs list in your WordPress.com dashboard with
    these steps:

    1. log into WordPress.com.
    2. go to http://wordpress.com/my-stats/
    3. select the blog you want to unlink from your account in the dropdown menu at the top right and click “Switch” button.
    4. scroll all the way down and click “Configure stats access”
    5. click “Leave this site” button in the expanded area.

For the other items, I’d recommend reaching out GoDaddy, or even checking the WordPress.org support forums.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at:
