site icon

Tried to place a WordPress site’s site icon to our YouTube homepage banner ‘basic link’. All other links display their respective site icons, except the WordPress.com site. Please help. My email is: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi @leechinatour2017, if I understand you correctly, the problem is on YouTube.com, correct? Can you reach out to their support to see if there’s a way to adjust the icon? We allow you to display custom icons for your site, for what that’s worth, but I don’t know if YouTube will pick them up:

You did, Supernovia! I do see your reasoning why it’s a YouTube problem.
However, I have made four such links on the YouTube >> home page banner. Three of them display their Site Icons perfectly. Only the xisu77.wordpress.com link doesn’t display. This seems to me it’s not YouTube issue; it’s a wordpress issue.
Thanks for the two links as well. I have gone through the Site Icon documentation and it works fine until I placed it to YouTube home page banner.
I don’t understand if the avatars has anything to do with it?

The site icon is properly set on https://xisu77.wordpress.com/. It’s visible in the source code where it should be, and it’s correctly displaying as favicon in my browser tab. So the problem is not on the site.
If Youtube is not picking up the site icon for this specific site, they’ll need to look into why that is from their end. Without knowing why Youtube is not recognising the icon on their end, there’s nothing we can do on ours.
