Site icon
-
Hi guys,
My site icon wont update from a new icon I have just saved. The site icon for my website should be my baby’s foot. When I share the link on facebook of my website the thumbnail is a picture of my old site icon. Is that right? Or am I not doing the right thing to change my thumbnail of my site when posting on social media.
Your help would be greatly appreciated :)

Are you using Publicize? https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
Have you tried using the Facebook debugger? We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

Hi there,
I’m seeing the updated icon to the upper left when viewing your site, so it seems like Facebook is holding onto old information about your site. You can manually submit your site to them again via their Debugger tool, which @timethief linked to here:
http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
Enter the URL for your site to the above tool then click the blue “Debug” button. From there, you’ll see an option to “Scrape Again”, which will manually submit your site to Facebook.
Let me know if you have continued trouble!
