site icon has not updated

    I changed the image I use as the site icon over a month ago but it still seems to show the old icon.

    Hi,

    Did you change the site icon at Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon?

    I just set a site icon on a test site with the Lovecraft theme applied and it displayed within a few seconds. Then I replaced the image with a second image and that one also displayed within a few seconds.

    I triple checked and, yes, I have changed it to the correct image in site identity settings and it still does not show up correctly in my browser or bookmarks.

    Thanks for that update. The Site Icons support page says,

    Please note it may take a few hours before you see your new site icon. In case the icon does not update, you can also try clearing your browser’s local cache.

    Since it’s been over 24 hours since you reported the issue, and I can’t think any other reason for the result you’ve obtained, if clearing the browser cache doesn’t resolve the issue, then I’d suggest that you add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar at right here to call for staff attention. Staff will respond here, so you might want to subscribe to the topic (also done in the right sidebar).

    Hi there,

    Currently, I see a blue icon with Leadership of Learning as the title. Is that the old icon your are trying to replace? Have you tried simply removing the icon before adding the new one to see if anything updates?

    I take it that you’ve already confirmed that it meets the requirements of being square and at least 512 pixels wide and tall?

    Is the image you are trying to use uploaded in your media library? If so, I would like to take a look at it – if you can give me the name or describe the image for me, I can look for it in your library.

    Let me know what image you are trying to use – I’d be happy to look into this for you.
