Site image all wrong??

  Hi folks. My site images changes anytime I upload new content. I have gone to themes-custom- and choseen the site image but thats not sticking when I link someone? Not sure why? Ive gone to wordpress.com and lchaged the site icon too but nothing changes. It is just picking photos out of my image library? Can someone help with this?
