    I accidentally imported my site back into my existing site and now it’s showing duplicates of everything. How do I reverse this?

    A couple of questions to get things rolling.
    1. Do you still have the import file you used?
    2. When you exported your old site content, did you choose the “All content” option?
    3. Is everything duplicated or are there some that aren’t?

    Hey draskl, yes I have the file I imported and I chose the “All content” option which is why that happened, I believe. Most things are duplicated: the navigation, some blog posts, etc.

    Cool, thanks for answering those questions.

    Rather manually deleting the doubles, and since everything is duplicated, your best route is to delete everything and repeat the import.

    WordPress.com seems to have two options for this: (1) bulk delete and (2)”Start Over.”

    Option 1: Check out the instructions to “Empty your site” – https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/. Then follow the links for instructions to bulk delete.

    Option 2: Within the MySite panel, under the Configure section, choose the “Settings” option. Then scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see the option “Start Over.” Click on that and then follow the prompt.

    Once you’ve removed all your content, then go through the import process again.

    Please note that you’ll need to repost any content that is not in the import file.

    It’s forcing me to contact support from the My Site panel in order to do the start over method.

    This Forum is community based, so none of us will have access to the backend of your account to process the “Start Over” request.

    I followed the prompt, it seems the Support staff have been pulled into a project, but will be back tomorrow. This was the message:
    “Support is closed at the moment while we work on a few projects internally as a team. We will reopen on Wednesday, October 21st.”

    Try the “Start Over” option again tomorrow, and a WordPress staff member should be able to update your account from the backend.
