Site in different languages
-
Hi Dear, I need your help to find the best solution for my problem.
I have the domain juliana.lu hosted in the external provider Nominate.com
This domain is associated to the page I’m creating in WordPress, which is registered under the domain julianadotlu.wordpress.com.
The language of the page is English.
So far it’s working fine, however, I’ll need to translate the website in 2 more languages: French and Portuguese.
I read the instructions from WordPress for multilingual sites and I understand that the best solution for me is to create one site for each language, however, I some questions:
– I’ll need to buy 2 additional domains, right?
– Will I need to hire 2 additional plans for the new sites in French and Portuguese?
– I’m currently associating the domain juliana.lu to julianadotlu.wordpress.com, however, I want to change this association to the new site that I’ll develop in French. Can I do that in WordPress? Don’t worry about sending the procedures, for now I just want to know if I can do that.
– Obviously I don’t want do re-do all the work I did for the site in English. Can I replicate the site into the new domains and just translate the content? Thanks in advance.

Hi there
– I’ll need to buy 2 additional domains, right? No you do not! You can have one domain that points to your main or home page. The home page can have links to the appropriate page in the language of your choice– Will I need to hire 2 additional plans for the new sites in French and Portuguese? If you are clever, the 3 languages can be grouped under one site and covered by one plan! Keeping all the pages in one site means you do not have to triple your workload across three separate sites if you decide to change or modify your theme!
– I’m currently associating the domain juliana.lu to julianadotlu.wordpress.com, however, I want to change this association to the new site that I’ll develop in French. Can I do that in WordPress? Yes, you can map your domain to anywhere you want. You could also create subdomains (like French..juliana.lu, Protuguese.juliana.lu, Jerraris.juliana.lu) to point to the pages in those particular languages.
Hope that helps!

I’m accessing the possible solutions. For now I’m confirming with WordPress if I can do a copy of my Home Page (with the same contents). If they confirm that I can, I’ll try to do as suggested by you.
By the way, do you know if I can do copies of my Home Page and translate it afterwards to the languages I want? -
