Site info and generator question
-
Hi!
I wanted to know if it is alright to hide the site info and generator information encoded by wordpress.com
Instead, I added a Text widget box and included all the information that was still there. “Powered by WordPress.com using Pilcrow Theme by Automattic. Fonts on this blog.”
I wanted to know if this is alright.Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is something that only staff can answer. I see someone has already modlooked this thread, so hopefully they will drop by and answer that. I think they prefer to have it in the footer rather than in a text widget, but that is just speculation on my part.

There’s actually no way to remove the code that’s generated in the head section of your source like that.
If you’re referring to the Footer credits, removing those is a violation of our terms of service.

staff-blorbo, what they did was hide the footer credits and put them into a text widget on the bottom bar area.

The normal footer has links in it – they removed the links and use a junk font that you can’t read.
