  • Hi there,

tlayudona.com.mx is not hosted here at WordPress.com, but rather with Go Daddy. I would recommend contacting Go Daddy, as they would be able to assist you in regaining access to the back end of your site:

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, but the essential difference is that we don’t have access to all WordPress sites, only ones hosted on our WordPress.com servers. For more information, please see:

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Ok, thank you for your assistance. So what I’m understanding is that we have a wordpress.org site that is hosted by Godaddy. I was the phone with Godaddy all morning and they were not very helpful, because they said that I need to enter the site to update the plug-ins, etc, to which they do not have access. I cannot successfully enter the back end of my site because that’s precisely where the glitch is. Through Godaddy I was able to update the latest version of WordPress, but I don’t know where to go from here. Do you have any additional suggestions?

To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

Since your site is not hosted with us, we don’t have any access to or the ability to help fix this issue. But I can get you pointed in the right direction for help.

The good news is that because you use the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com), help is available at the community forums here if GoDaddy isn’t willing to assist:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks in the open-source forum are more familiar with these issues and are in the best position to help.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
