Site is down

Hi, last night my site crashed because I changed a code in team functions (team editor area). I wanted to change the name of my theme into the name of my website but you can guess, that didn’t work. The only thing I removed was ‘theme by…’ and the link to the theme webpage and updated the file. The next second my site crashed and I can’t even get into the admin area now. Any idea how I’m able to get back in my site and what to fix now?

It looks like this is a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version that is supported here.

https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/With that being said, you can try to access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and let you regain access to your admin area.
If you have any further questions about this process, I would either get in touch with your hosting provider (they may be able to restore your website back to how it was before those changes were made) or check out the WordPress.org support forums:
