site is down! =( Theme error

    I can no longer access anything on my site! The site itself is down and I cannot get to the admin page either. All I get is Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/20/8955120/html/wp-content/themes/ruffie/functions.php on line 244

    How do I get back to my site or at least reset the theme back?

    Hi there,

    Answer:

    Since it says there’s an error in functions.php, you can simply download the original theme from here – https://wordpress.org/themes/ruffie/

    Extract the zip on your computer. And finally upload the new functions.php to replace the old functions.php on the server using FTP.

    Note:

    It looks like your WordPress site is self hosted (using WordPress.org).
    I’m sorry but here on this forum, we only provide support for sites hosted on WordPress.com.
