Site is gone

The person who updated our site in the past is now longer with our company. We had someone else working on it and the previous person told them to run the updates. When they ran the updates our site crashed and is not under our dashboard any more.

Hey there,
This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
I’m unable to check what is causing that critical error as it isn’t connected to our system here on WordPress.com.
However if you would want us to have that sort of access, to provide daily backups, and our 24/7 support service (among other things), you could of course migrate over from your current host and use our Business plan! We have information about all that it offers here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/plan-features/business-plan/This is how you could migrate the site, whereby we could help then support it for when things like this happen in the future.
https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-an-entire-wordpress-site/#import-from-self-hosted-word-pressOf course, if you’d prefer not to migrate, our ‘sibling’ plugin Jetpack provides downtime monitoring for free, and you can also purchase the Jetpack backup services too as part of the Jetpack Security package:
https://jetpack.com/features/security/I hope this helps.
