Site is gone and don’t know where it went
-
I was working on my site last night. I woke up this morning, and I can’t login. It says ‘jakehotchkiss.wordpress.com’ is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.’ But I certainly never deleted it, and I’m the only author. My domain jakehotchkiss.com is still running, although I have no way of editing it without wordpress.

Perhaps you can fill up this form
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recoveryand see if the folks can help you with that problem.
Good luck -
@jph1313 – Pulling up your account, it looks like the request to delete your WordPress.com hosted site
jakehotchkiss.wordpress.comwas initiated by your user account on December 4, 2018 and due to our data retention policies, the site itself was purged completely 30 days later. On the contrary,
jakehotchkiss.comis not hosted here at WordPress.com but at Bluehost. Therefore, in order to manage your site, you would need to log into the site here:https://jakehotchkiss.com/wp-login.php
If you have trouble accessing that site, you would need to contact Bluehost for help since they’re the ones hosting your site. You can reach them here:
https://www.bluehost.com/contact
I hope that helps!

Hi there, jakehotchkiss.com is running the open source WordPress software and you should be able to log in directly with your web hosting provider or through your site’s wp-login.php
As far as your jakehotchkiss.wordpress.com website, if you created a WordPress.com account in order to connect your WP site to the jetpack plugin, you wouldn’t need to also create a website here and if it’s been more than 30 days since the WordPress.com site was deleted, it won’t be possible to recover.
I’ve flagged this thread for Staff assistance in checking how long ago the WordPress.com site was deleted. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Thanks, guys. I changed hosts yesterday, and I didn’t realize my password credentials changed with it. That being said, my host (a tech supporter) is able to log in using these new credentials, but I am not. Is it possible that too many requests locked me out temporarily, or what?

It might be a browser cache or that your domain hasn’t fully propagated yet. If you changed hosts your domain nameservers (DNS) would have also changed and those propagations can take up to 48 hours to fully complete. During that time you may be trying to log into your old site using your new credentials.
You can check the status of your DNS here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/jakehotchkiss.com
If you still have trouble, you should reach out to your host support for help as we don’t have access to nor the ability to fix any issues with your website.
I hope that helps!
