    Hi there!

The site used to have the WordPress.com Business plan which allowed it to have custom themes and plugins. Since the plan has expired, those features are no longer active.

To reactivate those features, please upgrade the site to the WordPress.com Business plan again. You’ll need to log in to the other account (which you originally used to purchase the subscriptions) and go to https://wordpress.com/plans/hfpracing.wpcomstaging.com to upgrade the site to the Business plan again.

Once the site is upgraded, you’ll be able to reactivate the plugins and any custom themes that were installed on the site.

    Hope that helps!

Thank you. I acquired company recently. I do not have password information for the other account HFPRacingAdmin and previous owner does not know it or who it belonged to in organization. Can I get the “access” transferred to my account so I can purchase the upgrade?

  • Hello there,

Ok, it sounds like you would need to recover the account, which can be done via the use of a transaction ID.

A transaction ID can be found on the statement of a card used to make a purchase.

If located, account recovery can be found here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Please see more about account recovery here: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

The plan was purchased under previous ownership and user hfpracingadmin. I’m not certain I can obtain a transaction code. I just need to move under my user name to renew plan and re-active site asap.

Let’s try this again – plan expired which is under an admin ID of prior ownership. I’m an admin on the account. I need to have the account transferred under my admin ID so I can re-activate the plan. The posts about transaction ID of last statement would have been prior owner and I don’t have access to that transaction ID. Also, don’t have password for hfpracingadmin which is what plan was under. I am an admin for site but do not have that password. Can you not transfer the plan and account information from hfpracingadmin to my admin account so I can re-activate site?

  • Hi there,

Can you not transfer the plan and account information from hfpracingadmin to my admin account so I can re-activate site?

Not without confirmation from the previous owner as they are the owner of the upgrades. You can always purchase a new Business Plan under your account, but the issue is the two domains. By ICANN regulations, only the registered name holder can transfer the domain to you.

So, the best bet would be to touch base with the previous owner hfpracingadmin and have them transfer the domain to you per the instructions below:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

You can further discuss this with our Account Recovery Team by filling out the account recovery form – they may be able to further assist you with this issue if you aren’t able to touch base with the previous owner:

Looks like I’m screwed. Contacted previous owner and has no idea where that account is set-up to go and doesn’t have password. Is there a live person I can chat with?
