Hi, I’d like to register adewils.wordpress.com but I’m told my name’s reserved. I think it’s unlikely anyone else except me has registered that name. How can I add that reserved site to My Site(s) or login? When I browse for that site I’m told “adewils.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
The address adewils.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved! But you can sign up and choose another one.” -
That domain is reserved to the wordpress.com account adewils. You could try to contact that account and ask him or her to transfer that domain to you. But wordpress.com can’t and won’t give you contact info of that account. So best solution is to choose another one or to buy you a paid plan where you can have a custom domain.

Thanks for your response. I have a site called adewils.com. I have it hosted by someone other than WordPress. However, I’m thinking of just having a free WordPress.com site called adewils.wordpress.com to end my hosting fees. I can create adewilscom.wordpress.com for instance but not adewils.wordpress.com . I’d like to create an adewils.wordpress.com site to see how it looks, before I stop using my domain name and my hosted site. Isn’t that possible?

Perhaps I should explain that I already use WordPress to write posts etc. on adewils.com … I just want a free WordPress site called adewils.wordpress.com

My answer still stands. As adewils isn’t a registered or protected trademark, you can’t claim adewils.wordpress.com or adewils.whatever ..

Why is it reserved but adewils com.wordpress.com isn’t?

Adewils wordpress.com is reserved to the wordpress.com account adewils. You can go for adewilscom.wordpress.com as their isn’t a wordpress.com account adewilscom.

It is more than likely me who has registered adewils.wordpress.com I would lay a great deal of money on it. When I enter that into the address bar to try and login, it says ‘adewils.wordpress.com doesn’t exist The address adewils.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved! But you can sign up and choose another one.’
So how do I try to login to it?

Is that you? If so then you can attempt to recover access to the account.
If it isn’t you then you’ll have to choose a different variation of the address you’d like as the one you’d like is reserved for that account as @staartmees explained earlier. -

As @themagicrobot stated, there is a WordPress.com user account
adewils– when a WordPress.com user account exists, their “same name” free WordPress.com URL is reserved for their use. This particular user account never created this site, which is why it “doesn’t exist”.Therefore the site name
adewils.wordpress.comis reserved for the user accountadewilsand why you can’t register it. Unless you can prove ownership of this account, you will need to choose another free*.wordpress.comURL for your site.I hope that clarifies things.
