    Today my site is unavailable. There must have been a wordpress update instigated ove the weekend. my site has been replaced by the initial staging site. Why has this happened?
    Can it be fixed please.

    Thank you staartmees I thought it was on autorenew. I will see if I can locate the spot and check what is there.

    Hi there,

    That domain expired on 18 July, yes, along with the Business Plan that connected it to the site.

    Those upgrades belonged to another admin on your site, foundtechnology. We tried to auto-renew it, but the renewals failed because the card we have on file for that user was declined. We sent them several emails to let them know.

    Please let the person who owns the foundtechnology account know that they’ll need to renew this domain and buy a new Business Plan for the site. Alternatively you can also buy a new Business Plan via your account, but even though you own the site, you don’t own the domain, and only a domain’s owner can renew it.

    If that person is no longer involved with the site, they’ll need to transfer ownership of the domain to you so you can continue managing it going forward. Transferring a domain is also something only the current owner of the domain can do.

    Hey Kokkieh,
    Thank you for you very detailed response which is quite accurate.
    Foundtechnology developed our website under the domain you mentioned.
    Upon handover we mapped the domain to our company domain daccordoas.com.

    I have now discovered that the mapping is not there anymore for some reason.
    I guess it is a simple process to recreate the mapping but would like to understand we these settings were restored back to some 12months or more.

    Domain mapping expired, as well.

    Once you’re re-purchased the plan, you’ll be able to connect it again to your site:

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/.

    If you’re referring to the changes on your site – once the Business plan expired, all plugins, third-party themes, and custom code were removed from your site together with any content created while using them.
    Once you get back your Business plan, you’ll be able to restore the site to the latest backup from before the plan expired:

    Do you host this site? Daccordoas.net?
    Foundtechnology created our site but are no longer admins now.

    We work and have been developing daccordoas.com which I believe was a mapped domain at WordPress. I am not completely sure

      if or how

    daccordoas.net and daccordoas.com are linked.
    Do we need them both?

    How do we go about getting the bills for this situation sent to us so we an resurrect our company website. DaccordIT((email visible only to moderators and staff))

    Hi there!

    Do you host this site? Daccordoas.net?

    The domain daccordoas.net was registered and hosted by us at WordPress.com. It’s expired recently so if you don’t want to lose this domain, you’d need to renew it as soon as possible.

    Generally speaking, only the person whose account was used to register the domain can renew the domain. You’d need to have them transfer the domain to your WordPress.com account so that you can renew it from your account.

    We work and have been developing daccordoas.com which I believe was a mapped domain at WordPress. I am not completely sure

    daccordoas.com is a separate domain that is registered elsewhere and was mapped to a WordPress.com site. In fact, both daccordoas.com and daccordoas.net were on the same WordPress.com site (which currently loads at daccordoas.wpcomstaging.com).

    daccordoas.net and daccordoas.com are linked.
    Do we need them both?

    It’s up to you. Both of the domains were used on the site with one redirecting to another. You don’t necessarily need them both, but if you don’t renew daccordoas.net, you risk losing it permanently and it will get more expensive to renew. You can check what happens to a domain after it expires here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/

    If you’d like to have the site up at daccordoas.com, you need to do the following:

    1. Upgrade the site to the WordPress.com Business plan. The site had the WordPress.com Business plan features so you will need to upgrade to this plan again.
    2. Map the domain daccordoas.com.

    You can do both of the above from this account. You’d need to have the account foundtechnology either contact us or transfer the domain to your account if you want the domain daccordoas.net as well.

    I note that we went through this issue last year and it was resolved with the bill being paid.
    I am not sure why he credit card details have reverted to the old belonging to foundtechnology.

    Could you direct the bill to our account so we can arrange payment?
    Foundtechnology account is no longer a user and the company may be difficult to contact.
    You’d need to have the account foundtechnology either contact us or transfer the domain to your account if you want the domain daccordoas.net as well.
    How do we go about moving the daccord.net domain to our account. If I can contact FoundTechnology how do they contact you to confirm the move.

    foundtechnology is the account which owns daccordoas.net, so only they can renew it under https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

    Once they recover the domain, they can transfer ownership of the site and domain to your account by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

    I dont believe foundtechnology have a wordpress account. They are no longer on our console in any event.
