Site link keeps popping up in the webpages

  • Unknown's avatar

Every time I add a title to the site, a link to the home page pops up on every other page. I can’t remove it in the code or in the blocks (it doesn’t pop up when I’m editing). And I don’t want to remove the site title because anytime I send the link to someone it’ll show that there isn’t any title.

For clarification, open this webpage. https://iscdxbstudyguide.wordpress.com/ap/

It’s the link on the top left of the page that I can’t seem to remove. Also that odd space between it and the menu has been plaguing me for ages.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Are you speaking of the site title, The Study Guide, that appears top-left on the screen?

The site title, if displayed on a site, will always link to the homepage.

If you don’t want the title to display on individual pages, open the site editor at Appearance ->Editor. Click the template name at the top, click Browse all templates, and select the Page template.

Once that template loads, click the three lines top-left to expand the block list view, and click the gear icon top right to see the settings sidebar.

In the list view, expand the blocks until you see the Site Title block. Select the Group block just above it, and delete it. This will remove the title and tagline from all pages on the site.

Alternatively you can also delete the Row block highlighted in the screenshot – that will remove the logo, title and tagline.

If you just want to un-link the title, rather than completely remove it, click on the Site Title block, and in the setting sidebar on the right you’ll see a toggle to control whether or not the title links to the homepage.
