site looks different on other search engines
-
I created LABrockville.Wordpress.com and it looks good when I use Google. But when I went to show it off the user was using AVG and internet explorer and it looked like crap.
So what did I do wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Search engines are Google and Bing, Yahoo, etc.
IE is a browser not a search engine. Please see here so you are aware that IE9 and IE10 are the most current version of IE browsers. Ie8 and versions below it are old versions that have been superseded. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/crafty-theme-doesnt-work-in-ie-8-help?replies=8#post-1314981

So did you try my site? I am dealing with senior citizens who have old machines. One was using AVG the other IExx. My original site template uses an out of date WordPress template that is no longer supported and seems to be working very well. at (email visible only to moderators and staff)

I viewed your site using IE8, Chrome 27 and Firefox 2. On this computer I’m running on Windows XP with AVG. The differences are small and they cannot be changed so you must either revert to using an old theme or accept what you see please.

I have IE8 for windows XP and my site still is not showing up correctly.
any suggestions? -
I can see the site just as you can using the same OS and the same browser version. What you see is what you get.

Hi there – Would it be possible to upload a screenshot of what you’re seeing to help in troubleshooting?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you’re not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library so I can see it. Thanks.

I found it.
The jpg is up loaded. It looks like this at home on my IE8, at the Legion On IE ?? through AVG, and two helpers see the bad verson and they are seniors who don’t know what IE is.
Google displays it great.
Will it work with IE if I change to a different FREE template? -
@kathrynwp
THe essential display differences are two in number when viewed in IE8:
1. The custom menu is displaying in a e vertical stack rather than horizontally along the top.
•Home
•About Us here in Brockville
•The Executive
•Membership
•Services We Offer
•Yearly Events
•Our Friends2. The widgets are displaying beneath the posts.
Nothing changes in the display when I disable AVG.

My other site uses Mistylook as a template. It works just fine as far as I can tell. Is there any way to get the template MistyLook for this site?
