Site looks different on preview to when editing
-
Hi please help,
when I edit my pages they look nice and centered on the screen, then when i preview it looks like its all on the left and there is a huge blank space to the right. It’s also squishing my headings so that the words break (like hyphenate over the next line). I’ve tried changing the alignment of the blocks to full width and wide width etc but nothing helps.WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No

As your site is set to private, no one on this forum can help you as nobody can see what’s going on. You’ll have to wait untill a Staff member is available after the weekend.

Hi there, your theme appears to be set up to show your page content in a left-hand column, while there’s an empty column on the right that can be used as a sidebar.
If you’d rather not have the right-hand column, then you can adjust the layout of your ‘Page’ template in order to remove that. It’s done via the Site Editor at Appearance > Editor – from there you can choose to go into your list of Templates, and then choose the Page template for editing.
When you’re looking at your Page template, I’d recommend using the List view for ease of navigation, so you have a left sidebar showing what blocks are on the page. It makes it easier for you to select your Columns block and switch that over to be just the one column. Here’s a screenshot of how that’d look in general:

We do also have guides that you may find useful for this, and for managing your site appearance in general:

I hope that helps, if you do have any other questions let us know!
