  I intend to upgrade to a premium theme over the weekend. I do not want readers to see the transition as I work on it.

  I don’t believe there is a maintenance mode plug-in. I was planning to switch my privacy settings from public to private as I made the changes. Will I lose any blog followers by temporarily changing my privacy settings?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Nope! You won’t lose any followers by switching to private. They’ll all still be there when you move back to public. :)

  You may want to let your readers know that you’re doing some maintenance, otherwise they may be confused if they visit your site while it’s private.
