Site migration

I have a paid domain through GoDaddy which I’ve upgraded to include WordPress hosting, however when I try to migrate my site I get an error because the site is hosted through wordpress.com. How do I migrate my site?

A WordPress.com site cannot be migrated using your hosting provider’s migration tools. Those tools work by accessing your admin account on the site and copying the entire database to the new site at the new host, and WordPress.com sites don’t work that way – on WordPress.com you sign into a username account, not a site-specific admin account, and WordPress.com sites share their files and some database tables, so those cannot be copied directly.
The only way to migrate a WordPress.com site is to export the content at My Site ->Tools ->Export:
That will give you a file which you can import using the WordPress importer under Tools ->Import in your new site’s dashboard.
