Site name

  Some time after naming and creating a new site, I changed the focus of the material in the site so that the site name is no longer appropriate. Will a site name change correct all the references to it in the coding within the site or must I go through and manually make all the coding changes? I plan to rename the site sudan.wordpress.com.

  Hi there,

  If you’re using subdomain only, you can change the site address at:
  https://wordpress.com/me/account

  Regarding replacing the original URL with the new URL, as far as I know, the system doesn’t replace the URLs in the post content for you automatically once you changed the URL.

  However, I looked through your site, you only have one Post and a few Pages ? and not all of them link to the original URL in the content body.

  So there is one solution to this:
  On the Posts and Pages section, there is a magnifying glass button on the top right that allows you to search text string. You can search for your original URL and replace the URL manually.

  If you’re looking to change your site address from hammelmanflightcovers.wordpress.com to something else, please follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/

  So long as any links on your site are relative to your domain, they will update accordingly.

  Thanks guys. Changing the site address was a snap. It’s now cammelpostman.wordpress.com.
