Site Name
-
I am making my first WordPress site, (a fee site), and I was wondering if there was a way to have a site name that did not have a nine digit number folowing the name, or do I need a paid site to do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Removing the “.wordpress” part of your site address does require a paid custom domain upgrade: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
However, you’re able to change your site address at any time for free, baring in mind that the “.wordpress(.com)” part will remain present. Please note that many site addresses will already be taken, so in that sense, you may need to resort to a paid custom domain

Thanks – but it is not the .wordpress part I am asking about it is the 9-digit number following the name emeraldstar — “emeraldstar397106807”

WordPress.com’s first offer for a free site usually has loads of numbers these days. But you don’t have to take the first address offered (so many people do!). If you experiment in the search box at the top you can usually find the site address of your choice with just one number (or even as a last resort perhaps adding another word) for free.

Oh! Do you mean your username? Please refer to this guide and let us know if you have any further questions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
