  I may have mistaken how to go about changing the name of my word press web address. Dumb. Is there any way to make the old address, when entered, forward to my new web address? Thank you.

  Can you share your site URL hosted on WordPress.com?

  If your site is using the self-hosted version of WordPress, then you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

  https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only :)

  That will require our Site Redirect upgrade. The address change process will delete your old address, but let us know here once you’ve made the change, then we can reactivate the old address so you can buy the redirect upgrade for it.
